DNR emails about hb 906
Georgia House Bill 906 was specifically designed to allow the transfer of Georgia heritage preserves, including the Butler Island plantation house, to private developers, according to Department of Natural Resources emails recently obtained by the One Hundred Miles coastal conservation advocacy group through the Georgia Open Records Act. The DNR has been talking to a potential buyer about putting a distillery at the Butler Island property since 2018! The Brunswick News reported on the emails, and now you can read them for yourself. There are two separate batches of emails below.
Please help the Coalition to Save the Butler Island Plantation House by signing the petition, and use the One Hundred Miles link to send a message to your legislators. Keep Georgia heritage preserves in the public domain!
